Public Sector (Interim Waste Operations Manager 2008 – 2011).
- The creation of a new Household Waste Recycling Centre for the borough that includes a purpose build reuse facility. This project included all aspects of the
budgeting, procurement, planning and permitting regimes, selecting and dealing with construction contractors, sub-contractors and building engineers, overseeing the build and planning all future
requirements of the facility. We were involved with the design of the facility and had ultimate sign-off for all issues relating to the facility.
- The management and responsibility for the delivery of a new and expanded collection service for al borough residents. This constitutes a change to the current
level of service provision and includes the delivery of 2 new, service specific wheeled bins to all borough residents. Our responsibility included the creation and delivery of the project plan,
all associated education and communication planning, budgeting and the associated delivery and collection logistics.
The creation and delivery of council's procurement for all of its waste management service requirements for 2010 – 2017. This project involved disaggregating the
current integrated waste management contract into six separate ‘Lots’ and creating all required documentation for each Lot individually. We were further responsible for the project
management of all legal, financial and technical teams engaged to assist Thurrock in this process and from a commencement date of February 2009, all PQQ and ITT documentation was created from scratch
in a five month period. The successful delivery of these procurements saved the authority in excess of £2m annually.
